Youth Groups at Temple Concord

Temple Concord’s youth programs bring students together for friendship, fun, and Jewish connection. Led by Youth Director Scott Miller, JYG and TYCON create spaces where young people can bond with peers, explore their Jewish identities, and build lasting memories.

Our Youth Groups

JYG (Jewish Youth Group): Grades 5-7, advised by Brian Rosen
TYCON (Temple Youth of CONcord): Grades 8-12, advised by Scott Miller

Each group has its own programming designed for their age and interests, giving students the chance to connect with peers and develop leadership skills in a relaxed, welcoming environment.

TYCON Leadership & Events

TYCON students in grades 8-12 meet monthly for leadership meetings, typically right before Religious School. These meetings are a chance to plan events, share ideas, and hang out with friends—food always provided!

Regional Connections

Our youth can also participate in the Sof HaDerech chapter of BBYO, launched last year for Jewish teens across Central New York. BBYO offers conventions, programs, and leadership opportunities that connect our students with the wider Jewish community.

TYCON members in grades 8-12 also participate in Epstein School on Tuesday evenings, learning alongside Jewish teens from congregations across CNY.
